COVID-19 Or Not, Here Are 5 Things To Do This Winter
Slide out of sweats and dive out in the winter sun, leaving behind your woes and work and chores and challenges. The waft of winter calls for refreshing recreation, and we have you covered for the exhilaration and entertainment you need.
Enjoy an Overnight Camp with a Bonfire
Established in Raigad, Forest Hills is approximately 160 km away from Mumbai. Bringing you a unique blend of luxury and privacy, Forest Hills at Tala, unites you with nature and rejuvenates with its holistic ambience.
A pet-friendly establishment serving an eco-friendly and adventurous experience, Forest Hills offers the best of both worlds – a chunk of nature in outdoor tents, bonfires for warmth and a comfortable couch and bed for your escapade-weary back.
Perfect for a weekend – long or even otherwise – enjoy a breath of fresh air and the warm embrace of nature. There will be enough room to socially distance yourself too!
Barbecue Session
From roasted marshmallows on skewers to cottage cheese and chunks of meat – all you need for an outdoor barbecue is a flame and a grill. If you’re feeling a little extra audacious, get some brushes to lather the savories with melted butter. Perfect for a gathering of groups large and small, a barbecue session with friends can easily become your weekly winter affair.
Add some tunes and thrills to this, and your daytime barbecue might just turn into a nighttime bonfire.
Wine and Paint
The beauty of winter is the invigorating outdoors. Since this year has brought about a lot of changes already, indulge in quirky and out of the ordinary activities. Make the most of your (or your friend’s) garden or terrace, and plan a wine and painting session. Add a splash of cheer to your day while sipping on wine and dipping brushes in paint.
Just like your wine, choose your art material and mix it up. Go on and paint the town red!
Yachts? Yes Please!
Since summer can be a bit of a drab when it comes to basking in the sun on a lofty yacht, we have the sublime winters. With the kiss of the sun and the spray of the sea, celebrate the dawn of a new year with champagne as your chaperone and sunglasses as your savior.
Boat Booking in Mumbai offers a generous array of yachts to pick from to set sail in. Flit away from the hustle of the city and the cries of the pandemic to the calm of the water and an intimate excursion.
If you’re in Goa, we’ve got you covered. Head over to Konkan Explorers for your day out at sea.
Make your own Mulled Wine
While mulled wine remains enjoyable at any time of the year, a warm drink in a cool climate invokes an unparalleled fondness. Requiring only a few ingredients and an unbelievably simple process, a mulled wine making session along with friends or family can be a perfect activity this December. Here's how you can make your own mulled wine at home, using a single 750 ml bottle of wine.
Ingredients such as:
1 bottle of red wine – 750 ml
1 orange – sliced (more if you prefer a fancy garnish)
6 whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks (more for garnishing)
3 star anise
¼ cup honey
½ cup brandy
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients. Bring to a simmer (not a boil), and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer gently over low heat for 10 minutes. Serve warm and garnish with more citrus slices and cinnamon sticks.
Don’t let the disheartening pandemic bring your gusto down this winter – a new season calls for a new reason. A reason to engage in activity and kick up your heels and indulge in fun and fervor.
