Not So Mini - All the Mini Series that Make You Want More
2025 might be 3 months in, but in the TV world, the year is still incredibly young and even though we’ve been through it all with Severance season 2 and The White Lotus Season 3, a veritable streaming smorgasbord still lies ahead of us. But are you feeling a bit non-committal after too many seasons to catch up on? Well, we’re on the same boat. Here we list down all our favourite releases of mini series that don’t leave you hanging, but are so good they make you want more!
Adolescence
Yes, it’s been on your Netflix top 10 for a while now, but it’s never too late to watch this work of heart and soul. Philip Barantini, Stephen Graham, and Jack Thorne have come together for this four-part, one-shot drama that sees a family dealing with the aftermath of a 13-year-old boy being arrested for murdering his schoolmate (not a spoiler). This is not an edge-of-the-seat, popcorn thriller, nor is it just a murder mystery—it’s a deep, unsettling character study that raises far more questions than just whodunit? At the end, you realise that stories like these matter—not just as entertainment, but as catalysts for dialogue, introspection in parenting, and conversations that often remain unspoken.

The Studio
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s latest comic creation follows a legacy Hollywood studio and its newly appointed head (Rogen) as they try to survive in an increasingly hostile and volatile industry. The Studio is so meta it practically folds in on itself like a self-loathing screenplay about a screenwriter writing a self-loathing screenplay. It's a Hollywood satire where Hollywood stars play Hollywood types ruining Hollywood, while actual Hollywood implodes in real time. Martin Scorsese, Zac Efron, Catherine O'Hara, Bryan Cranston, Kathryn Hahn, Paul Dano, and Charlize Theron are just some of the all-stars assembled to send up Hollywood here.

Watch the best (and worst) of Hollywood in The Studio on AppleTV+ (new episode every Wednesday).
The Residence
The latest Shondaland series is a screwball White House murder mystery, with Uzo Aduba’s quirky detective Cordelia Cupp on the case and tasked with catching a killer among 157 suspects. For those of you who enjoy murder mysteries with clever storytelling and subtle humour, this is for you. While The Residence might not be a fast-paced thriller, it is a well-crafted and entertaining exploration of power, privilege, and the hidden tensions within the White House.

A whodunnit that actually keeps you guessing till the end, watch The Residence on Netflix.
Side Quest
A spin-off of the original Mythic Quest that explores office politics and interpersonal relationships in a video game office by the same name, Side Quest is a four-episode mini that features stories inspired by the flagship series and its lore. Expanding beyond Poppy, David, Ian (though he does make an appearance) and the MQ headquarters, the series looks at the stories of those involved in distributing spinoff comics, making the music and art of the fiction MMO, and even those who play the games.

Your Friends and Neighbours
Your Friends & Neighbours is a fitting new vehicle for Hamm’s slippery good looks. Hamm is a hedge fund manager who turns to stealing from his rich elite neighbours after losing his job in Jonathan Tropper’s darkly comic drama. Just with the trailer, you know the show is blackly comic, frothily fun and highly moreish. With it premiering on the 11th of April, with new episodes every Friday, we can’t wait to see what Jon Hamm gets up to.
