Founded in 2018 by Sunena Malhotra, Zayn by Sunena is an everyday jewellery brand inspired by Mughal art and architecture. Being introduced to the world of jewellery by her father at an early age, Sunena Malhotra saw him source old and new jewellery from various places, which ignited her passion and motivated her to explore the world of jewellery. Although she’s been a graphic designer and a teacher of applied art and art history by profession, she’s a self-taught jeweller. She began upcycling old and traditional pieces for friends and family. After indulging in extensive research about Mughal designs and jewellery, she realised most of them were extremely expensive. Having spotted a gap in the market, she founded Zayn by Sunena to create Mughal-inspired pieces that are minimalistic, elegant and easily accessible.
