Women in Today’s Fashion

In an endless pit of far-too-curated outfits, viral trends, and reels to the same ol’ music, there are a few ladies whose personal style really stands out. These women, some who have graced your timeline before, and some who are new on our radar, are united by a discerning eye, strong aesthetics and a love for beautiful things. While experimenting with your wardrobe and finding your distinct style can be daunting - let these ladies serve as inspiration for 2025.

Neelam Ahooja (@neelam.ahooja)

For Neelam, an accountant-turned-stay-at-home mum who had amassed a vast collection of pieces from Mary-Kate and Ashley’s much-loved minimalist brand, it also signalled the start of a new career. Even before the collector began sharing her wardrobe with thousands of people online, fashion was an integral part of her everyday life, but it’s only now that she’s making her passion her career. A self-proclaimed The Row super-fan and a certified ‘Bal junkie’ as she calls herself,  Neelam’s feed while minimalist, is refreshing and brings a certain je ne sais quoi that you can’t stop obsessing over.

Daribha Lyndem (@daribhagram)

When you first scroll through Daribha’s Instagram, you can’t help but be enamoured by her maximalist and, as she calls it, ‘erratic’ style. The Deputy Commissioner of GST in Mumbai (yes, we were pleasantly surprised too) and writer when not at her day job, also dabbles in interior decor, fashion and skincare in her free time. As she posts her weekly fit-checks you can’t help but be envious of her collection of light-as-air saris and how she Mumbai-proofs her layering. While her images do look very ‘Pinterest’ as the kids say these days - you can’t help but notice how she adds her own spin to her everyday style.

Roz Kaur (@roz_creativestylist)

Among the monotonous style you find when you’re on the hunt for inspiration, Roz Kaur’s Instagram posts stand out for being the very opposite. She is committed to bringing much-needed originality to our social media feeds. The ‘pro-age and diversity advocate’ is living her best life at 58 (so says her Instagram bio), and we are only too glad to join her on this joyride. Be it her trademark oversized glasses, sharply tailored separates or her very individualistic flair, one look at Kaur’s feed is enough to instantly subscribe to her sense of style. Describing her style as ‘untucked glamour with a touch of intentional disarray’, she started sharing her personal style on Instagram because she noticed a lack of representation of positive ageing and the experiences of women in their 40s and 50s. Honestly, who says your personal style is invisible after an age when Roz Kaur proves with every post that age is just a number?

Ekta Rajani (@eksters)

Despite being in the business of fashion imagery, for Ekta, clothing is only part of the story. After working in the fashion industry for 25 years, Ekta now straddles the worlds of fashion and sustainability. One look at her Instagram profile and it won’t take you long to gauge where she’s at: on a journey of educating herself, and those who follow her, about mindful consumption. From repurposing her old garments into new to promoting no shame in re-wearing your wardrobe, Ekta’s love for fashion is seen in her captions capturing stories (personal or about how it was created) of garments she styles on the daily.
